Student Accompanied Consultation
Student-accompanied sessions offer the same professional advice and structure as our standard consultations, with the added support of a student or newly qualified behaviourist. These sessions provide a more accessible, low-cost option while helping students gain valuable hands-on experience, and are suitable for many of the services listed above, including initial and follow-up consultations, rescue dog assessments and new puppy advice.
Available to new and existing clients, particularly within Yorkshire and within an hour’s drive of HD8, these sessions are offered on a limited basis, and spaces are restricted. Priority is given to rescue dogs, dogs in foster or kennels, and those at risk of relinquishment or euthanasia, though all cases are welcome. Waiting lists may apply, with urgent cases prioritised. To be considered, please get in touch with your contact details, postcode and a brief description of the issues you’d like help with, quoting “Graduate Consultation”.
Frequently Asked Questions
We've answered some of the most common questions below, but if you need anything more specific, please don't hesitate to get in touch, we're always happy to help!
The initial consultation takes place in your home at a time that suits you. We take a full behavioural history, assess the issues you’re experiencing and observe your dog in their normal environment. Techniques are explained, demonstrated and taught to you during the visit, and afterwards you will receive a detailed written behaviour plan to follow via email.
There is no strict time limit. The session lasts as long as needed to properly assess your dog, discuss the situation and outline, demonstrate and coach you.
Not always. Some issues can be addressed in a single consultation with ongoing remote support. However, follow-up sessions are often helpful for practising training techniques, reviewing progress and adjusting the behaviour plan where needed.
Follow-ups are more hands-on sessions where we review your progress, troubleshoot any difficulties and practise elements of the training plan together. These sessions typically last between one and two hours depending on the complexity of the case.
Yes. Online or telephone consultations are available in some cases. These may require detailed background information and access to video footage of your dog’s behaviour. Remote consultations are assessed individually to ensure they are appropriate for your situation.
Yes. We offer an introduction service to help you safely and smoothly introduce a new dog or puppy into your household. The aim is to establish positive dynamics from the beginning and reduce the likelihood of future conflict.
Yes. Pre-puppy consultations help you choose the right breed and energy level for your lifestyle, as well as provide guidance on selecting a responsible breeder and the right individual puppy.
While we aim for the best possible outcome and guarantee the quality of our service, specific results cannot be guaranteed as every dog and situation is unique.
