What is The Balanced Dog Collective?
Coming Soon
The Balanced Dog Collective is an online learning community built around one simple idea: behaviour is just the symptom.
When a dog is struggling, the answer is rarely found in a training technique. It's usually somewhere in the bigger picture: health, hormones, gut, brain, stress, environment, relationship, history. That's what we explore here, together.
Whether you're an everyday owner trying to understand your dog, a rescue family navigating a complicated past, or a professional who wants to offer something genuinely better – this is your place.
No jargon. No judgement. No warring camps. Just honest, evidence-based, dog-centred thinking explored together through community, peer support, learning and experience.

A Note On Our Preferred Education Partner
The Balanced Dog Collective works closely with the British College of Canine Studies – our preferred provider of canine behaviour education. If you're looking for a solid foundation before joining us, we specifically recommend their Level 3 Dog Behaviour and Level 4 Advanced Canine Behaviour courses. Two of the best in the field. And if you're already a BCCS graduate, you'll find a warm welcome and some exclusive benefits waiting for you below.
What's On Offer
Practical Experience Placements
BCCS Level 3 or Level 4 graduates’ automatic acceptance – other applications considered
Real cases. Real dogs. Real owners. Working alongside Julia and Steve, this is where classroom knowledge meets the complexity of actual behaviour consultations. Steve is the other half of Balance Behaviour: dog handler, scenario architect, and the person who can make any real-world situation possible and safe. Between them, there isn't much they haven't seen. The experience the college can't give you, and the bit that changes everything.

Body, Mind, and Spirit
Based on The Balanced Dog, this course explores the interconnected factors that shape canine behaviour, from health and hormones to neuroscience, environment, and emotional state.
Not a training manual, but a completely different way of seeing dogs. Two pathways available: one for dog owners, one for professionals.
